How to update your audio drivers on Windows 10

Refer to this article for audio driver related issues on your Windows computer while running Vmaker.

Please follow the below mentioned steps you face any issues with the microphone on your Windows 10 PC.

  • Restart your device.

  • Please try selecting a different audio device from the drop down on Vmaker

  • Remove, re-install or update the audio driver on your system. The steps are mentioned below.

Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause issues with recording and sound playback. Here is how you can update the audio drivers, and should there be a need you can also download new drivers. If you're using an external microphone, you'll have to download the drivers for your device.

Uninstall and reinstall your microphone drivers:

  1. Open your Device Manager.

  2. Navigate to Audio inputs and outputs.

  3. Right-click on your audio source name and click Uninstall Device.


  4. Once the device is uninstalled, right-click on Audio inputs and outputs, select Scan for hardware change to re-install the inbuilt audio-driver.

    If your audio-driver doesn't reinstall, please follow the steps mentioned below

As an alternative method, you can also choose the option to Update Driver.

Based on the brand of your device, here's how to download your updated drivers:

Dell:

Scan your computer for existing drivers and utilities and follow the instructions below.

  1. Go to Dell Drivers & Downloads page.

  2. Identify the Dell computer by using one of the following methods:
    - Click Detect PC and follow the instructions.
    - You can also click Browse all products to select the Dell product from the catalog.

  3. Click on Detect Drivers.

  4. SupportAssist analyses the computer to find the latest available updates.

  5. Once the scan is complete, click on Download and install.

Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the drivers and utility installation.

HP:

HP computers come with HP Support Assistant (HPSA) installed. HP Support Assistant can be used to automatically find and install the latest updates for your computer.

  1. In Windows, search and open HP Support Assistant.

  2. On the My devices tab, find your computer, and then click on Updates.

  3. Click on ''Check for updates and messages'' for the latest updates.

  4. Wait while Support Assistant works.

  5. If new updates are available, click the check box next to each update, and then click on Download and install.

  6. When HP Support Assistant finishes, close the tool.

Acer:

You will have to use the Acer Care Center software to update your drivers. Search for the Acer Care Center software on your computer.

If Acer Care Center was not included on your product or has been uninstalled, you can easily download it from our support site.

  1. Enter your Serial Number/SNID or search for your product by Model.

  2. Select Application.

  3. Click on Download next to Acer Care Center to save the file.

  4. Unzip the file you download, and run the Setup.exe file to install the application.
